Gàidhlig san dachaigh ~ Gaelic at home

Experience shows that children thrive in Gaelic Medium Education (GME) when they have parents who normalise spoken Gaelic and Gaelic media at home.

You don’t have to speak Gaelic to make Gaelic normal in your home. You can watch videos together as a family, listen to Gaelic radio while you drive or cook, or watch everything from Gaelic cartoons to music festivals on BBC ALBA on iPlayer.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand: you – and especially your child – will benefit from accustoming your ears to the sounds and rhythms of spoken Gaelic in its various forms. This type of passive learning is an essential complement to the formal learning your child does in school.

Below are some videos you can watch together at home.
